the worst part about eyebrow lamination
Let’s get this out of the way: the procedure requires that your eyebrows stay completely dry for the subsequent 24 hours. That brings me to the worst part about getting my eyebrows laminated: not being able to wash my face for an entire day post service. In the summer this is a no-go for me because a night shower is necessary from May until September.
I have to be extremely strategic for when I schedule eyebrow lamination. The no face wash translates to no showers, which translates to no gym, no networking events, no important work events, minimal work and preferably work from home. If something pops up on the schedule, I have to postpone the session. This frequently happens. I pushed my most recent appointment back several times from the end of February until the beginning of April.
I cannot manage the post-service skipping of the face wash in the summer, ergo this summer I am limiting my eyebrow beat down to a tint and wax.
Lamination can wait until the autumn.
what is eyebrow lamination like?
The process does not take long at all and is actually quite relaxing. Most recently, I had a 3:35 pm appointment and I was walking out of the studio by 4 pm. For the entire time, I get to lay down, feet kicked up, eyes closed, and talk with the eyebrow maestro or not talk with the eyebrow maestro. It is actually a lovely time out where I get to take a guilt free technology time out.

The studio I go to rolls eyebrow lamination in with eyebrow waxing and eyebrow tint. It is a full service beat down of the brows, if you will. The total cost pre-tip is 170 dollars.

Note that you cannot just walk in, even just to schedule. All first time at Idle Hands appointments are preceded by a consultation; all scheduling is done via online form or email or at the conclusion of a service, which is what I do.
