All about what I wore to a gallery talk and subsequent dinner…
the gap organic poplin shirt
I bought this shirt as part of a set last summer after copping the green and white awning stripe set in the same style. I love how roomy it is, marketed as a big shirt. The color is fantastic and yielded many a compliment last night. The shirt (and matching shorts) are one hundred percent cotton.
I am wearing this shirt in a size large.
the banana republic factory store straight mid-rise utility pants
I bought these on a whim in surplus green and black. They were on sale, available in tall, and one hundred percent cotton. At a time when the brand tends to produce nearly everything in synthetics, I jumped at these natural fiber pants and spiritual sister skirt with utility details, both in army green and in black.
These pant remind me of a pair of silk cargo pants that I procured from, yes, Banana Republic Factory Store circa summer 2003. It was around the time that J.Lo was at her Ben Affleck-part one peak and she wore them. Back then, I bought them in the khaki and black colorways.
I am wearing these pants in a size 16 tall. they start the day on the tighter side but stretch out ever so slightly after sitting in the car, in the meeting, at the desk, you get it.
I am wearing these pants in a sixteen tall.
the manolo blahnik suede block heel shoes
I wore these all evening, from walking to one gallery to the next, and then halfway home. The block heel is sturdy and the slingback allows my foot to swell throughout the summer day without worrying about the shoes becoming uncomfortable.
I am wearing these shoes in a size 12.
