A long sleeve caftan for the seasonal transition, don’t mind if I do…
the sail to sable hydrangea embroidered caftan
Philadelphia was bitch slapped with eighty degree weather two weeks ago, after a fakeout spring following by another chiller of a week. I initially reached for a new Banana Republic trench dress that had newly arrived; I was consequently disappointed by the fit, particularly how high the belt loops on the dress were stationed. I did not ask for an empire waist dress!
I swung open the closet in our home’s guest room, also known as my spring / summer closet and my eyes fell on this caftan that I bought on sale from Sail to Sable at the end of last summer. I am newer to the brand, save for a dress I wore during the pandemic up until relatively recently. I knew that it would soon be too hot to wear daytime hours this summer, so I wanted to start getting milage on it while it was still relatively cool.
My favorite part is the breeze linen fiber that is sturdy enough that I do not need to wear a slip with it.
I am wearing this caftan in a size extra large.

During the second year of the pandemic, I indulged in fine jewelry. Not necessarily expensive jewelry, but delicate and dainty pieces from Kendra Scott and Baublebar’s fine jewelry lines. Necklaces, bracelets, rings, I partook in them all. The rings are so easy just to slip on every day and my fingers never get too swollen to wear them. On the other hand, the star necklace I wore this day, does have a tendency to get tangled up in on itself and the initial necklace I always wear with it.
Le sigh, champagne problem.
