Fresia Stretch Maxi Shift Dress

I bought this dress last year during the After Party Sale.

Reminder: Collecting Lilly Pulitzer is not a personality trait.

This dress style is something I see somewhat regularly while shopping for vintage Lilly Pulitzer. And anyone who has been here for a summer knows that I love vintage Lilly Pulitzer from the 1960s, specifically.

However I struggle with the size supply for the vintage styles that I love. They are not frequently available in larger sizes. Which I tend to love if only for the length of the garment. It has always been my strategy to buy large. From there, I take the dress to the tailor for a customized fit.

Within the last two years, Lilly Pulitzer has been tapping their vintage archive for inspiration for the current rollouts. I’m talking maxi rompers, the wavy front stripe on a maxi dress, and a set consisting of a pair of shorts and a printed crop top with a layer that falls to maxi length. Admittedly that style description is tough to picture, so just check out the outfit here.

This faux wrap dress falls into the same camp as the other styles that were vintage inspired. I have seen a few versions of this from the 1960s on eBay, Etsy, Poshmark, or 1at Dibs. Again, I have never been able to find it in my size, thus making the purchase during last summer’s After Party sale.

While this color story is long gone, alternate colorways are avaiable both this season and leftover from last season.

I am wearing this dress in a size sixteen.
