Francis Valentine x MTM

Francis Valentine just released a Mary Tyler Moore branded collection and I cannot think of a more synergystic pair. The collaboration consists of twenty styles, most available in several colorways. The majority of the collection is clothing, but there are footwear, handbag, and accessory styles. There is a philanthropic component to the rollout.

Twenty percent of net sales of the collection will go to support the Mary Tyler Moore Vision Initiative, to support their vital work to end vision loss from diabetes. Driven by her husband, Dr. S. Robert Levine’s dedication to making Mary’s dream of a world without vision loss and blindness from diabetes a reality, The Mary Tyler Moore Vision Initiative champions and advances diabetes research, providing essential resources and tools to accelerate progress.

fabrics / fibers

Francis Valentine is notorious for using synthetic materials across its selection. This is the big reason that I do not own anything from the brand; all of the styles I tend to love are of some polyester amalgamation. I admit that I was initially skeptical when I saw the MTM collaboration. I thought that the plaid pieces would end up being an acrylic blend. However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that much of the collaboration is natural, specially wool and wool blend.

Just don’t tell PETA.

price points

The price points range from 48 dollars for a canvas cosmetics case to 498 dollars for a sequin gown or wool peacoat.

size options

As always, the extended sizes do not extend to tall sizes. Quelle horror.

The coats and dresses are available in sizes extra small to 3x. The pants are available in number size zero through eighteen. The shoes are available in size six through eleven.
