I wrote about the Kate Spade x Beyond Yoga collaboration last winter. I didn’t love wearing it during yoga (especially during chatarungas), but I do love wearing it not while working out. True athleisure, emphasis on the leisure.
Unfortunately after several seasons, the collaboration between Kate Spade and Beyond Yoga is reaching it’s end. Luckily, I score a bunch from the first collection nearly two years ago. As I have added to my active wear drawers in the past few days, I don’t feel the need to buy any more clothing for exercising.
Fortunately for you, I have pulled together remaining styles at a markdown.

Since I got back on the workout train last December, I have been working on increasing my collection of leggings. Having amassed quite the selection of black reversible Lululemon leggings with the basic black and patterned waistband options, I decidedly skipped Lululemon entirely and shopped other brands. I passed on another pair of from the Beyond Yoga x Kate Spade collaboration, as they did not hold up the way I wished.
Enter Alo. I was skeptical that the 34″ inseam that the item description cited was a typo. I was pleasantly surprised that the 34″ inseam was spot on, with the potential for the leggings to stretch further. The rise on these leggings is higher than the rise on the standard Lululemon Wunder Under. This style fits true to size.
I purchased two pairs in this style. I have worn each once a week since the end of December to either barre, yoga, and namaste + tone. The waistbands in each pair stay in place while going through a vinyasa flow. There is no inching downwards. Perhaps most crucial is that neither pair are see-through in down dog. Especially, when there is a mirror at the back of the class, opaque fabric on the backside is key.
With multiple solid and print combinations, these leggings are a no-brainer for the tall girl whether she is sporting these to the studio or to brunch.

My Sunday mornings are for yoga. Sometimes brunch afterwards, but always yoga.
Last Sunday, I deviated from my standard wunder under-based ensemble to try out a pair of yoga pants that I purchased over a year ago, yet still had the tags attached. The first Beyond Yoga x Kate Spade collaborative collection was released in the fall of 2015. Since then, there have been at least three more releases.
I initially bought these leggings in a medium and had to exchange for a large. I usually do not love cropped leggings (#tallgirlproblems) but these were long enough that they did not turn into Bermuda-length bike shorts. The rise on these leggings is particularly low. Compounded with the facts that the waist ran large and the fabric didn’t have enough stretch to bounce back, I found myself repeatedly pulling up the leggings throughout the class. Flowing through chatarunga to up dog, my pants definitely creeped when they caught on my yoga towel. I regretted going up a size while trying to mellow out in down dog; however I think sticking with the medium would have made the leggings too tight throughout the legs. If you have slim legs, these are the leggings for you – just err on the small side.
They are cute leggings, but unless every other pair of leggings are in the hamper, I will not be wearing these to yoga or any other fitness class again. Breaking from down dog to pull up your pants…ain’t nobody got time for that!
