Blue Iguana Inn, I

We stayed at the Blue Iguana Inn for the last night of our cross country road trip. The boutique hotel is one of two sister hotels in Ojai, California. I have a feeling that the Iguana Inns are complete sleeper destinations, in that they are so low key especially in comparison to surrounding hotels; however pulling into the property and walking into the registration office put this hotel on the Lucindervention map.

The Blue Iguana Inn consists of twenty-two guestrooms, suites, bungalows, and larger vacation houses in ten buildings across the property. The Inn was established over twenty years ago and built in the Spanish Revival style. Location-wise, the Blue Iguana Inn is a mere two miles from downtown Ojai; parking is available onsite and readily available on the street in downtown Ojai.

Due to a reroute throughout Joshua Tree park, we were late (9 pm) getting into the accommodations, but the staff at the front desk could not have been kinder and more helpful when it came to getting our {copious} luggage up to our suite. Once we settled, my husband ordered a pizza and sodas but we could have gotten away with raiding the complimentary breakfast basket. Which he ended up doing the next morning.

The photos of the hotel and the guestrooms do not do the property justice. I loved the layout of our suite. We had a wood burning fireplace, kitchenette, large foyer perfect for stowing our luggage, and two balconies. I nearly insisted on sleeping with the balcony doors open, but you know, birds. The ambiance of our accommodations were just so relaxing and it was the perfect punctuation as our last night on the road.

Sincerest thanks to the Blue Iguana Inn for sponsoring our stay.
