LTS Shuttering

By this time, nearly everyone in the tall gal community knows about the impending closure of Long Tall Sally. After forty-four years of serving the 34 inch inseam and up community, they are closing their doors for good. It is truly the end of an era.

I remember where I was when I first spotted the Karl Lagerfeld Paris collaboration and just how excited I was to wear any one of the ladylike tweed ensembles. Finally a tweed get-up sized specifically for my height! I will never forget how confident I felt in that black tweed on black tweed suit, as well as the many, many other Long Tall Sally items.

I rounded up the items that I have worn on the blog, as well as items that I have my eye on for procurement. Scroll down after the jump for a look back at Long Tall Sally on the blog and after that, an update about the blog.

I own it and love it:

With the end of Long Tall Sally, it is clear to me that quality tall clothing is going to be more difficult to track down. With that in mind, I am rededicating myself to finding garments that cater specifically to the tall gal community. Don’t get me wrong, finding an item from a standard height only line that perfectly fits my tall frame is one of the sweetest feelings in the world, but you know what is even better? When a brand recognizes their tall audience and caters specifically to us with extended tall sizes.

How am I doing that? The answer is threefold.

  • Check out Tall Tuesdays. They won’t happen every Tuesday but when there is a Tuesday blog post, rest assured that it is a shopping post catering to the tall gal. I am going to try to stick to wardrobe staples for this…unless I find something so absolutely fantastic that absolutely I need to share.
  • I added another tag to my blog. Click on the all the tall things tag at the conclusion of any given blog post that specifically includes a tall / long item and it will query all of the blog posts that contain items that are available in tall / long. All of the Tall Tuesday blog posts will be tagged as such, but also other outfit posts which feature items from a tall brand or extended tall range.
  • Lastly, check out the all the tall things menu at the bottom of the home screen of the blog. The link to every retailer will direct the reader to the tall selection within the retailer, unless of course it is a retailer who caters exclusively to the tall.
