COVID-19 threw a wrench in my plans for running during the back end of January. The embassy gym closed down on the 19th due to safety measures. The gym is to open on the 31sth. Yes, that is tomorrow. Yes, it’s been two weeks.
I missed running, of course, but I am excited to see if I build on the distance I can cover after a two week recovery. In the meantime, I worked on body weight exercises and Bala gear exercises.

I stocked up on Bala gear during the halcyon days of the pandemic. (I feel the need to point out that by halcyon, I mean, when we had hope that life would go back to normal.) With every new Bala release, I was the first in line to buy. These days I am rotating out exercises that my old trainer threw at me while I am waiting for the gym to reopen.
I also started walking around the park with the Pamper Pirate in tow. I mean that literally, as I pulled his sled behind me. It was not much of a challenge; I loved getting the steps in and I am certain that the Pamper Pirate enjoyed his chariot ride.

Let’s meet back here next week, same time same place, for a check in?
