Alternate title of this outfit and therefore blog post: mustard + ketchup.
the Stubbs & Wootton x Assouline loafers
Shortly after I sent a tweet about Assouline coffee table books being a basic girl decorating essential, Stubbs & Wootton dropped a collaboration with the publisher. The collection consists of four pairs of velvet slippers, each embroidered with the symbol on the cover of the Palm Beach, Amalfi + Capri, South of France, or Ibiza + Mykonos books.
I was particularly taken with the Palm Beach pair. I did not have a reason to order them until my husband told me that we had to show up at a formal event for his work. Ordered! Unfortunately, six weeks was not long enough for them to be made and show up in Kazakhstan. Such is the struggle of Spanish artisan crafted shoes.
I found a code for twenty percent off most collections at Stubbs & Wootton. In addition to the Assouline collection, COVERINGTHEBASES from Krista Robertson also works on men’s and women’s Covid-19, Wedding, Happy Hour, Zodiac, Best in Show, Zachary Weiss, Tony Duquette, Scalamandre, Peanuts, Monopoly, and Harry Potter collections.
Alternatively Over the Moon is a stockist of Stubbs & Wootton. The etailer just had a twenty percent off site wide sale, including the footwear brand, and specifically the collaboration. I am linking these and the marked down ones from Loveshackfancy which were criminally not made over a size ten. (I wear a size eleven in Stubbs & Wootton.)
Since the shoes did not arrive in time to wear to the event, I am taking every excuse to wear them anywhere. Who is basic now?
the Krewe dauphine sunglasses
This is one of the only orders I have ever made at Revolve. While I do not love nor wear their stable of in-house brands, Revolve does curate a choice selection of third party brands. In addition to my Smythe nordic sweater purchase, I also bought these sunglasses from the etailer.
I love the oversize sunglasses from Krewe and I would be lying if I said that I did not have more than this pair. Unfortunately trends in eyewear dictated that the New Orleans-based eyewear brand move away from huge frames; luckily I stocked up while the getting was good and that just so happened to include the Krewe Dauphine in the sunshine yellow shade.
