Training for 13.1 (17)

I am wrapping up the last month of half marathon training with forgoing alcohol. Not that I drink very often and usually only at brunch after my Sunday morning five miler, but I am doing everything I can do optimize my running. That was previously limited to getting the right foods, enough rest, and suiting up in the ideal running attire for the weather. Now is the time to step it up with eliminating the stuff from my diet that is not necessarily great for training.

I have not done a dry month since the beginning of 2022, when I passed on alcohol from January first to near the end of March. Oh and by the way, along with incorporating Bala gear in my strength training routine, I lost twenty pounds in that time frame. The weight loss was not the point of abstaining from drinking or lifting weights, but it was a happy coincidence.
