Sartorial 9-to-5 II

This dress made it’s first outing in the states, to the office just a week ago.

the j.crew horsebit detail dress

Something about this dress reminds me of Gucci, or better yet, Hermés. Blame the gold plated horsebit detail. When I spotted that both this bright orangey-red and the ivory colorway were accented with the gold, I knew I wanted them both. While I have not worn the ivory yet, it won’t be too long from now.

The dress is made from Tolegno 1900 lightweight wool. Established in 1900, Tollegno 1900 is one of the leading manufacturers of Italian yarns. The heritage company is committed to sustainability as well as social responsibility.

Style-wise, the hem on this dress is a true midi length. It is longer than most of my work dresses from J.Crew, but nonetheless a variation on my typical office wardrobe. There are snap-in-place bra stays, though as the sleeveless style is more conservative, they are more of an insurance policy than a necessity.

I am wearing this dress in a size 12 tall.

the karen walker super duper sunglasses

Are the Karen Walker Super Duper sunglasses past their moment? I don’t know and I don’t care because I just love the oversized style. So much so, that I ordered them in both tortoise shell and black.

As part of my Spring Capsule Wardrobe, I only packed three pairs of sunglasses. My Karen Walker Super Duper were two of the three and are really doing some heavy lifting in the accessorizing department. In addition to liking the aforementioned oversized style as well as the arrow detail at the temples for aesthetic reasons, they also hide my eye bags, Fashion and function.
