An encore of the J.Crew Resume dress, this time in black.
the j.crew resume dress
Does anyone else recall the time when J.Crew killed the workwear game? I’m talking lightweight wool in many hues. I’m talking the Emmaleigh Dress and the Origami Dress. I had both in at least three colors each. My collection always served a no-fail answer to the age-old question, “What to wear today?”
While most of the lightweight wool workwear is long gone from the J.Crew assortment, no longer being produced in any iteration, shoppers still have access to the Resume Dress in both lightweight wool and linen. I bought both the navy and the black for a series of interviews from back when I was in my first trimester.
I am wearing this dress in a twelve tall and it accommodated me up to three months pregnant.
the j.crew leopard print block heels
Another great pregnancy staple are these block heels. As I was in the office up to the week prior to the Pamper Pirate’s due date, only beginning to WFH due to the coronavirus epidemic, I wore heels to work while pregnant with the sole exception of my last day in the office. I was so over it that I showed up on casual Friday in leggings, a long sleeve tee, cashmere open front cardigan, and sneakers.
Vivid memories. But back to my shoes.
I wore these heels a solid three days a week during my pregnancy. They accommodated my swollen feet while granting me pregnant lady confidence. I inevitably received compliments on how put together I was looking during even my third trimester, no doubt in part to my chic footwear.
As my foot size has returned to somewhat normal, I am still sporting these block heels. I favor them especially for train commuting morning and evenings when I have to take both the Metro and the Amtrak or vice versa. Rather than balancing on a stiletto or even a kitten heel, these block heels get me from DC to Philadelphia sans ankle twisting incidents.
