Today I am sharing what is in my Louis Vuitton Pochette Accessoires. But first, all about how I obsessed about designer gateway staple.
the Louis Vuitton Pochette Accessoires
Set the scene: fall 2001, stockroom of Banana Republic Factory Store 6295 in the original location at Prime (now Simon) Outlets in Gulfport, Mississippi. After cluelessly wandering around during the store closing hour, trying to locate the home of this offensive shiny polyester cerulean blue crewneck tee that had been left in the fitting room among other items, I waited along with the rest of the staff.
The discourse had turned to a small coated canvas purse carried by one of the (assuming) twenty-something’s who kept the job as what we would call today a side hustle. This purse had a brown background and a gold print of fleurs and LVs. Vachetta leather composed the strap. The price tag, at an inexplicable {to me} 295 dollars, was discussed openly and at length.
Just under two decades later, and I started actually liking iconic styles (never ever the Neverfull) from Louis Vuitton, as triggered by buying the Keepall in the Damier Ebene. I really hoped to pick up the Accessory Pochette thereafter, but it was always out of stock and not even a phone call to an advisor proved fruitful.
Cut to a year later. I felt my spidey senses tingling and immediately navigated to the Louis Vuitton site on my phone. The Accessory Pochette was available, but only in the Damier Azul. Checking back later in the week, the Monogram canvas was available albeit ostensibly stashed in someone’s shopping bag. Twenty minutes later the Pochette was available and ordered.
What had cost 295 dollars two decades prior, had climbed to nearly one thousand dollars at the time of purchase.

what is in my bag?
- Passports were always on my person when we lived in Asia. I still carry them for our family as a backup form of identification.
- The pandemic made me rethink wearing masks in enclosed areas with heavy volume. Coupled with the insane smoke from Canada circa summer 2023, I keep a few with me for emergencies.
- Did anyone else keep their VAMS paperwork? My husband just needed to access and upload his own in preparation for a work trip to Asia.
- Does writing checks make me geriatric? I prefer paying with them to Venmo, any day! Anyone else?
- One tube of lip balm is not enough! Must have two! Aquaphor is ideal for when the dryness and chapped skin has gone too far. I like the Smith’s rose option for everyday.
- Lastly, though it has been over nine months since I needed them, I always carry some tampons.
