I Bought It / I Like It

I became obsessed with this pink linen dress the moment I saw it. I envisioned wearing it with my Fry Powers turquoise / malachite necklace, braided belt, and Oran sandals. Cut to said dress in the bubblegum pink hue selling out nearly immediately. However, it became available in a size medium tall and I ordered it. If anything, I will be able to rule out the size and put the large tall on my radar.

I added a pleated skirt to the J.Crew order. Initially, I clocked the satin (read: polyester) version. How jazzed I was to discover that a cotton version was offered in a springy neutral green shade, and it was on promotional pricing! I pictured pair it with my navy and white striped button up shirt (sleeves rolled up) complete with monogram, Louis Vuitton Damier Azul Noe handbag, and either a pair of my Stubbs & Wootton loafers or my metallic Golden Goose sneakers. I ordered a size twelve; the skirt is not available in a tall size range but with the length measuring at about twenty inches, the regular size range wouldn’t be obscenely short.

But record scratch. These both arrived prior to blog post going live and now you are getting my feedback. The pink dress, as I predicted to myself, is sheer. I have a great slip that would be perfect underneath it but with that layer, I would want to go up to a size large tall. Furthermore, even though it is linen, a natural and ergo premium fabric, it is not worth the full price. The dress is going back. Regarding the skirt, it arrived rather wrinkly and the pleats were not nicely pleated. With that, I am bringing it back as well. I may look for it in store, just to see what the pleats on the sales floor counterparts look like but I doubt I will even trade it in. The skirt is otherwise interesting in that it functionally wraps and snaps up the front; I have never seen a snap closure skirt before.

I am back on my Barry’s bullshit and since I hit six weeks postpartum, started to attend classes again! I procured three workout tops of the Swiftly and Sculpt variety. I am still trying to come to the conclusion whether I like the standard version or the relaxed version of the long sleeved Swiftly better. I think I just favor whichever version I last wore.

These also arrived and they are fabulous as I expected them to be. I look forward to sporting them in class as soon as the day this post goes live.

I also ordered three chambray shirts for my husband. He wears the two chambray shirts in his closet constantly, so much so that one is on its last leg. He is getting three more of the version that is better holding up.

I became obsessed with the Sarah Flint silk floral printed Natalie flats. I probably would have indulged had they been in the reimagined Natalie Ballerina flat, as I just have too many of the original pointed toe Natalie flats to justify another pair. Enter the new Grear laces in the very same silk floral print. I wear both my metallic pair and juicy orange pair of Sarah Flint Grear sandals all summer long, so the silk floral ties are a great way of scoring this gorgeous print and updating said sandals, particularly the metallic ones, without buying a new pair of shoes.

But if you just have to have the new Sarah Flint silk floral printed Natalie flats, use code SARAHFLINT-CCLUCINDA1 to save 60 dollars on any purchase $230 and up.

These silk ties arrived the day after I ordered them. I am so excited to upgrade my metallic Grears with them!

Lastly, I ordered this dress yesterday. I have had my eye on it for awhile and wanted to at least nail down my size prior to it going on final sale. I went with a size small tall, and only because reviews say that it runs large on top of the oversized fit.
