A vintage Lilly Pulitzer shift dress? With pockets? Is there anything better?
No. The answer is no.
That is why this is the fourth time that popped up on the blog.
the vintage lilly pulitzer shift dress
Ever since I bought this dress back in the spring of 2019, when I spent a few months in Monterey, it makes a yearly appearance on the blog, save for last summer when my eggo was preggo. It fits rather snugly post-pregnancy but it is just too good to allow a few pounds to stop me from wearing it.
My husband snapped these photos midmorning in between errands. As we continued walking to the grocery store, I commented about how the dress fit my current figure. Being that this dress dates back to the 1960s, it is conservatively sixty years old. In sixty years, I pondered, how many times do you suppose this dress has been altered? Not to mention that sizing standards were vastly different back then, as well as what the ideal body type of a woman. For better or worse.
With that, I quit mentally beating up myself for not fitting in the dress the way I had in my past.
the krewe felicity sunglasses
Remember when teeny tiny sunglasses a la The Matrix came into vogue? Even when the smaller sunglasses were super stylish, I resisted the trend in favor for larger ones, probably because of my photophobic eyes. Seriously, I have been told that I am not a candidate for Lasik because my eyes cannot deal with light.
I digress.
I jumped at the Felicity shades when they were released circa 2017 and I am glad I did. It would not be too long before Krewe du Optic name would be shortened to Krewe, and the brand would move away from oversized options.
I stand by these butterfly shaped shades as they evoke the 1960s/1970s.
