Three cheers for the return of Calypso St. Barths and this tunic from the first iteration of the brand.
the calypso st. barths henrika tunic
This tunic is a whopping eight years old, and yet still isn’t the oldest item in my closet. I remember ordering it and feeling like the ninety dollar sale price was still steep for me. Had I known how long the tunic would last and how well it would resonate with my style, I would not have had a second thought about making the order.
Unfortunately, in the eight years that I have owned the tunic, the constant rotation has caused the loss of some of the beaded embellishments. Like my postpartum hair loss, fun! Regardless, I will continue to wear the tunic. And my hair will grow back.
The tunic is long gone from the Calypso St. Barths online store – mind you that the brand has since gone out of business and been relaunched since then – but the tunic is available on the secondary market. On the aforementioned note, I could not be more thrilled with the return of Calypso St. Barth. The relaunch was a long time coming for the resort-oriented boho lux contemporary brand. My style is typically classic and at times came come off as stick-up-the-A preppy, I wish I could lean in more to the trustafarian aesthetic. Alas, I think I need some recreational substances in order to really achieve the attitude. I just say no to drugs. I mean, I won’t even take the anti-anxiety meds that I strongly suspect I should have started circa the first time I clocked myself experiencing stress in the sixth grade. Because, you know, I don’t want to lose my edge.
I digress.
I am wearing the tunic in a size medium. At six foot, two inches tall and a typical size large top, the tunic fits.
