Lilly Pulitzer to the Maxi

Next to the silk maxi dress, this cotton poplin maxi skirt was the hero item of the Lilly Pulitzer and Goop collaboration, released in 2018. As it was one of the more expensive items in the collection, it was out of my budget at the time. However, two years later while in the throes of the pandemic, I was in a position that I could purchase the skirt and did once I found it in my size on the secondary market. Wearing it truly made me feel alive when our family was in quarantine even if the only people who saw it was via the blog.

I love the high quality cotton fabric, the self belt, and the pretty pink print entitled “Kiss Kiss”. And can we talk about the full cut of the skirt? Talk about injecting drama into every day sartorial style. Keep in mind that any time Lilly Pulitzer releases a full volume maxi skirt, the style instantly sells out.

I am wearing the skirt in a size twelve, though I should have gone up to a size fourteen. I think it fits TTS. The waist is just not comfortable fitting my post second baby body. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wearing this shirt with the Lilly Pulitzer x Goop maxi skirt is quite the combination, only for the gutsiest of #resort365 connoisseurs. I would love to claim credit but the truth is that the two pieces were styled together in marketing images for the collection, so maybe I am not all that sartorially ballsy. Regardless of my originality or lack thereof, I love power clashing even when it is with prints in lieu of colors.
