Tucker Lover V

If it is summer, it is time to break out the Tucker dresses.

the tucker safari / sarah dress

I bought the Tucker Safari dress while I was eight months pregnant with my first, over four years ago. I so vividly remember sitting at my workstation and debating whether I could stomach paying two hundred plus dollars on a dress. (Several Emilia Wickstead frocks and La Vie Style House caftans later, this is laughable.) I also had to make a decision whether to buy the Safari dress in the cobalt wave print or the tiger stripe print. I clearly went with the cobalt print but I regret not buying the tiger stripe print as well.

And why? Because this is fifth time that this particular Tucker dress has appeared on the blog and that is only a fraction of how often I wear it. The Safari dress, since renamed the Sarah dress is a total workhorse. I have worn it to work, on a boat during the Fourth of July holiday, and throughout my second pregnancy. On that note, a belt is necessary, even if you do not wear the self belt which is included with the dress. It washes and dries beautifully, in a delicate cold water wash cycle and in the dryer.

I am wearing the Tucker Safari / Sarah dress. It runs large and I am wearing it in a size medium.

the j.crew belt

The year was 2012. A friend from graduate school cleaned out her closet, ridding herself of items that no longer suited her then-indie aesthetic, mostly eliminating preppy-style items.

Fresh off of the Obamas sporting J.Crew, I was riding high on the classic look. As such, my friend passed this belt, and other accessories culled from her closet, on to me.

Twelve years later and I am still sporting the J.Crew silk repp stripe belt! Thank you, ‘stine!
