RIP Matches Fashion. Before the bankruptcy and dissolution of my favorite luxury etailer, it was the place to make brand discoveries. Case in point: I found Fry Powers via Matches Fashion, thanks to an algorithm-suggested product, likely algorithm-driven by my purchase of a La Vie Style House caftan.
No soon after I splurged on the Fry Powers Turquoise and Malachite Rope Necklace, Carrie Bradshaw herself, Mrs. SJP, was spotted on set in costume wearing that very necklace. Reference season one, episode three, When In Rome, for the necklace in action.

Since then, I wear my Fry Powers quite frequently during the summer season. It makes a statement whether it is worn with white, prints, neutrals, matching, or contrasting shades. In addition to a long rope necklace style, the malachite and turquoise combination is also available in a collar length necklace, bracelet, and anklet. Anklets, for the kids!

Recently, thanks to a post-holiday sale via the brand website and a coupon code FPFIRST15, I was able to offset the price of an edgy pearl necklace and bracelet set, and a gem and enamel ring that I have been eyeing for awhile. The pearls are unlike anything I have ever seen or worn. I have big plans to wear them with an Emilia Wickstead Stepford Wife-esque dress this spring. As for the gem and enamel ring, it is giving 1980s in the most elevated way.
Full candor, the brand is quite pricey and while they are well worth it, as a mom, I cannot see myself regularly indulging in Fry Powers jewelry at full price. I will continue to keep an eye out for the turquoise and malachite bracelet, gem and enamel ring earrings, and studded pearl earrings to go on sale, and comb the inter webs for coupon codes. #youdoitoo #andifyoudontyouaregivingmoneyaway
