Old Navy Taffeta Skirt

I broke my anti-polyester policy for this skirt.

I love a full midi-length skirt for holiday. This particular one reminds me of the skirt Ellen Griswold worn in the last scene of Holiday Vacation, albeit in basic black rather than festive green. (Sidebar: I had no clue that so many people dress up as the character for Halloween; upon searching, there were so many guides to dressing up as the holiday icon.)

Some key design features of the skirt include the elasticized waistband at the back and the slash pockets. I will say that the waistband has less give than say, my Boden version. It is a slight struggle to pull up and I have to wear it at my true waist.

I am wearing the Old Navy Shirred Midi Swing Skirt in a size large tall. It runs small.

the mignon faget chain and charms

Before Thanksgiving, my older son declared that I was getting a necklace with two hearts for Christmas, because I love both him and his brother. #notuntrue

Truth be told, my husband did not have a clue about where to buy said necklace that Petite Garçon dreamt up. I looked at Tiffany and though the brand had some options, I was not in love with any of them. Rather, I pointed my husband to Mignon Faget.

The New Orleans-based brand is one of my favorites, frequently popping up on the blog. Naturally, I bounced over to the website and found that indeed that Mignon Faget carried heart jewelry, specifically a standard size and a petit size, perfect symbols of the big brother and baby brother. They were shown with a pink enamel-ish chain. Since I already have several sterling silver chains from Mignon Faget, I went with the chain as shown and I am so glad I did. The color is pale enough to nearly qualify as a neutral.

Since I opened my holiday gift, I have not removed it.
