Lilly Pulitzer is So Good RN

Lilly Pulitzer is going through what I would call a renaissance right now. Along with the new logo, the brand is offering Men’s Stuff and a Reserve Collection.

Gone is the total deluge of styles made of stretchy polyblend silky-but-not-silk, though make no mistake, they are still stocked. Rather than the surplus of this fabric, the brand has returned to beautiful cotton poplin with a hint of stretch. (I’ll allow it for comfort’s sake.)

I love a romper disguised as a dress, a dress mimicking the genius of the original 1960s style made popular by tastemakers of Palm Beach and Jackie Kennedy, and a structured maxi dress with a detail ripped from an original.

It is clear that after an attack from athleisure design influences, the Lilly design team reflected upon the deep vintage archive. This vibe shift has made me a consumer of the brand once again. Before the launch of the Men’s Stuff and the Reserve Collection, I had not ordered Lilly Pulitzer since the spring 2020 panic / pandemic sale. On that note, could it be that the attack of stretch was a reaction to the pandemic and being stuck at home?

Regardless, I am here for the return of the resort brand. Are you?
