Tucker goes way back, and I mean a solid fifteen years. I used to unpack boxes of Tucker Classic Blouses in the stockroom of the Georgetown location of Cusp. Chime in if you ever shopped at one of the locations of Cusp: McLean, Chicago, New York, Dallas, DC. RIP.
Cusp used to have the best contemporary labels, of which Tucker was one of them. A fire in the warehouse or studio or something that has since been erased from the internet, and a relaunch as a DTC company, and Tucker is back. I rediscovered the label when I was in the third trimester with my older kiddo and fell in love with the Safari Shirtdress as it was included in the very recently launched cotton collection. I was subsequently gifted a Laura dress from the brand. The obsession lives on.

I spied the print of this dress, yellow featuring leopards and hibiscus florals, back in 2021. The owner and founder of the brand, Gabi, was wearing this print in a jumpsuit…or a pair of pants? What is time anymore, post-pandemic?
I consciously recall clocking and admiring the print, and asking when it would be released. However, I soon lost track of it, in favor of mom-type things. About four years, one transcontinental move, and a baby later, I revisited the Tucker website and noted an archive sale. One of the dresses up for grabs was the Sleeveless Sarah Shirtdress in the sunshine yellow print.
I am wearing this dress in a size XXL; the size choice I made in order to get whatever long length came along with the larger size. The navy cropped trench was a conscious styling decision as the dress still needs to be taken to the tailor.
