A 60s Silhouette

A swingy above-the-knee hemline paired with shoes with the slightest bit of lift screams 1960s.

the emilia wickstead kirby mini caftan

This was the dress that I wore when I interviewed for my current 9-to-5. I got a job offer for it, and another role for which I had interviewed for earlier in the day. After working for my previous employer for the better part of a decade and becoming numb to the plateau that I reached, I have to say that I did not know I could enjoy a job as much as I do now and learn as much as I have in the last year.

That is to say that I have fuzzy feelings and good associations with this dress.

the ferragamo vera heels

I initially spied these Ferragamo heels over this past holiday on the company’s website. While I like the bone shade, I was taken specifically with the embossed croc finish. So much better than the simple smooth leather. I like it so much so, that I was disappointed when the finish disappeared from the site. The style seemed to be stocked across all sizes and then, zero sizes. Cut to not being able to forget about the shoes and I Googled them, to be found at Net-a-Porter, and marked down no less. I ordered them in my typical size and – rejoice – they fit!

The first time wearing these, my feet ached at the end of the day. This day, the second day, the shoes wore much better. I walked a few thousand steps without pain. I largely attribute that to the low heel which kept pressure off the ball of my foot, but did not rub my heel raw.

I am wearing these heels in a size 11.5.
