I Bought It / I Love It

Recent picks from the last few weeks were minimal and winners.

what I bought and kept

It is no shocker that I am into Manolo Blahnik shoes. I find flats up to the 50 mm heels to be comfortable enough to endure an entire work day, sans commuting on foot.

Full candor: I am lukewarm on the Maysale 70 mm. I knew I loved the Hangisi flat and 50 mm heel, the Allurasan, and now the Reador. And that is a good thing because I went all in on the lattermost style and in addition to the red suede style, also ordered a mustard yellow velvet style. They were on sale via Net-a-Porter and the Manolo Blahnik omnichannel.

I wear this style, and most of my Manolo Blahniks in a size twelve.

I don’t know how or why this color block utility detail dress was pushed to a holiday release as I would categorize it with those with the utility rings of recent season past. I clearly loved that collection enough that I bought the both the solid black and the blue shibori tie dye colorways.

When this dress hit forty percent off almost immediately after hitting the omnichannel, I jumped at it. The item images show more of a true white block at the bottom; I find it to be more of an ivory akin to that of the woven utility straps.

I bought the dress in a size medium tall. I think the dress could be better with a lower waist but the black color block falling to the hips is unexpected, albeit flattering.

I clearly already wore these denim before snapping a photo, twice actually.

Growing up, tall denim was never offered in the rhinestone embellished variety. While I have a skinny cut embellished pair, I never particularly loved the style and found myself wearing them a mere handful of times.

Since these jeans coming into my possession, not only do I find myself reaching for them when they are clean, but also purchasing a faded black version.

I ordered these in a size 33 tall.
