Gap High Rise Black Barrel Jeans

A Gap High Rise Barrel Cut Jean re-run, this time in black denim. But not before I had to learn the hard way that I am no longer a candidate for low rise counterpart.

I doubled down on wearing barrel jeans, literally. These are my second set of the same style, from Gap, first pair being the floral color way. Before going on, I have no interest in wearing a blue jean counterpart. I like this jean because of the colors and patterns of which I purchased the style. Standard blue of any shade or variant simply will not do it for me. (I might be into the khaki-esque tan, but that is where I draw the line.)

I initially ordered these in the low rise option because they were on sale and the high rise were not. I recalled Gap low rise was relatively still mid rise. However I found that my memory is that of a woman who was more comfortable with what was considered low rise because the woman in my current body just could not get on board with the jeans once they arrived. Back to the Gap those denim went and I anted up the delta between the low rise price and the high rise price in favor of the more conservative pick.

Lately, as in for the past year, I have not loved denim fitted throughout the legs. The barrel cut denim are only fitted through the seat. It is just a more comfortable style for running around the city on a Saturday with my oldest. And that is exactly what we did! French class, PhilOrch’s production of A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, two gallery visits, a stroll through Old City, and Pequeño Amigo’s bowling birthday party!
