Ever since Louis Vuitton introduced an east west bag as part of their twentieth anniversary of the Murakami collection and was emblematic of the aughts maximalism, I have experienced FOMO for the perfect east west style that never made it into my closet. Nevermind that this version did not make it to the 130th Monogram Anniversary collection.
This season Louis Vuitton introduced a textile that has yet to be named only referenced as “Other Monogram Canvas”, nevertheless I have fallen for. I like that the monogram is more subtle, a blush with a paler blush background. I love the blossom print layer atop the monogram. The brown leather trim, eh I could live without. It kinda relegates the bag to seasons that are not summer.
update: This colorway is referenced as Monogram Dune, albeit only in the item description.
But I absolutely love the shape. It reminds me of the Papillon and the Ribera, Louis Vuitton handbag shapes that are long but not forgotten. RIP girls.
