It is fall, so says the muted and moody shades of recent acquisitions.

I bought two of the same cotton poplin dress from Banana Republic, both in a size large tall. Clean cotton – not dirty synthetic – pieces do not come around everyday and I can tell that these shirt dresses are going to stand the test of time in terms of not completely reading summer/fall 2026.
I wish the hemlines on the dresses were slightly longer, especially in the back because, dump truck. But with a pair of flats and as long as I don’t wear either on a gusty day, they are fine to wear to work as someone topping six feet tall.
I ordered each of these dresses in a size large tall.
The pants are a real crowd pleaser. They are of a stretch corduroy and the wide leg provides plenty of room in the calf. The length is ample enough that I could wear them with a low block heel. I love them so much that I bought them in the caramel color.
I ordered the pants in a size sixteen tall.
I am returning the matching corduroy shirt to the pants. The size large tall is too big. Granted it is marketed as Big Shirt, and I wear the cotton poplin version (in the same size) with the matching shorts, but perhaps the combination of the corduroy with the large scale made it just too bulky.
