Does anyone else remember Magic the Dog, the Old Navy spokespooch of the 1990s? He was as iconic as Carrie Donovan and the duo frequently appeared together in Old Navy television spots. Though there is a lot of overlap from last week’s Carrie Donovan tribute, I seem to remember him starring in more commercials that what can be dug up on YouTube.
Magic’s tenure at Old Navy kicked off in 1995 and he retired in 2001. I was disappointed to discover that there is not much further information on the internet, presumably because his time in the spotlight was concurrent with a nascent world wide web. Though I am unable to access them, I suspect that there were a cluster of Geocities devoted to Magic. (Remember Geocities?)
