Last Saturday my husband and I made the eleven block trip east to 14th Street for brunch at Le Diplomate. I had not been there since I was pregnant and therefore not drinking alcohol and we both wanted to be sure to eat there before the next wave of COVID-19 and then leaving the country.
We had not walked that far east since at least…last October? While Jamie and I spent as day on 14th, downtown, and Shaw back in March, the Pamper Pirate has never been in that area of town, outside the womb, at least.
I knew we would be walking about a mile each way and at 50 degrees, I didn’t want to be too cold. My go-to jeans and cashmere sweater over a long sleeve tee were the ideal combination for the conditions.
the tall cashmere sweater
Gap included tall cashmere in their holiday roll out. This has not happened since…2017? I still look back fondly on the dove gray tall cashmere hoodie that I ordered from the brand had in 2006, in which I wore consequently wore holes in the elbows, albeit in 2014. Eight years is a respectable go, especially since I was wearing that thing once a week during the winter.
Back to this year’s cashmere roll out. I purchased this turtleneck and the crewneck version when they were released. I am so glad I did because they go in and out of stock. The tall sizes are hard to come by but well worth stalking out. I still have the three shades I bought in the 2014 cashmere version.
the mask
I stocked up on Rowing Blazers masks over the summer and into the fall. Upon return from the coast, we resolved that we had enough masks. This one is pink Oxford fabric and one of the few lighter shade ones that is not of seersucker fabric.
