Fall Floral

This past Thanksgiving, we kicked off our day with a walk around our neighborhood. The Pamper Pirate insists on waking up at 5:30 am every morning, so getting out of the home before 8 am did not feel like a chore. The weather, the foliage, the calm and quiet hour, and my family made for a perfect morning.

the dress

Ro’s Garden, a brand I discovered via Tuckernuck, surprised me with this dress last week. I love the multitier style; the detailing on every tier was fabric with the same print but a slightly different colorway. That detailing alone would have sold me had I seen the dress in person.

I love the style. It is roomy without looking “maternity” and allowed for second and third servings of turkey, dressing, beans with duck confit and cranberry compote. Comfort is key during holiday and as I declared on my first Thanksgiving post circa 2016, skip the static waistband.

I had the realization that this dress would be the ideal thing to wear during flights as well, at least once it is safe to do so. Wear it without a coat, sleeves rolled up, and sandals for warm weather and with a jacket and boots for cool weather.

The dress is 100 percent cotton and I can confirm that is washes well. Cold water, delicate cycle, line dry.

the coat

I bought this coat from the Gap several years ago. I especially love the tan leather not only because Serena Van der Woodsen once wore a similar one (HA!) on Gossip Girl, but the color does not feel as heavy as a black or brown version.
