Poppy Aflame

One of my most vivid memories of childhood was outlet shopping in Freeport, Maine. My family loved visiting the L.L.Bean outlet. I loved the car ride from Brunswick, just snoozing off in the backseat. More than that, though, I loved looking at the Gap Outlet windows.

During one trip in particular, I was especially taken with the vivid color sweaters on the mannequins: kelly green, royal blue, shocking pink. Back then, my mom declined to go shopping at Gap Outlet because she claimed it was price prohibitive. Ever since then, I have held a candle for acid bright hues.

Between these poppy and flame shades, this color combination is quite literally fire.

the Long Tall Sally cashmere crewneck

This sweater came from the initial iteration of Long Tall Sally during the closing fire sale. It is one hundred percent cashmere and super luxe. The color is an uber saturated poppy hue, which is especially fun to pair with other power clashing shades.

I am wearing the sweater in a size small. Clothing from Long Tall Sally, or at least the original iteration of the brand, tends to run large and long. When shopping Long Tall Sally, keep in mind that the clothing is fitted around UK sizes.

the J.Crew corduroy mini skirt

While this exact corduroy skirt is from fall 2016, J.Crew has released a 2022 version available in both cream and navy. I love the 2016 version for the tab closure with brass snap at back, bright hue, and tall size range availability. It has been a mainstay in my fall wardrobe for the past six years, sans the autumn when I was pregnant with the Pamper Pirate.

I am wearing this skirt in a size 12 tall.

the Sarah Flint natalie flat

I accumulated three four five six (tan leather, black leather, black velvet with gold trim, navy suede, pomegranate suede, floral jacquard) pairs of Sarah Flint Natalie flats and offer the following intel on the sizing. For velvet and jacquard versions, go up an entire size. For suede and leather versions, go up at least a half size; I came to the realization too late. I have since bought the size I should have in the first place. Womp womp.
