This shirt came from the most unlikely of mall retailers, albeit from the online store.
the Limited bow shirt
I ordered this shirt from the Limited online circa 2015. I was drawn to the big bow, obviously, and the fact that it was a shirt available in tall. Mind you, back then, shirts available in tall size range were few and far between.
Back then, I wore this shirt to work all the damn time. On its own with skirts, on its own with pants, layered under a cardigan with skirts or pants. This shirt was on weekly rotation during the winter of 2015. It was a fantastic addition to my holiday wardrobe, always ready to be paired with a dressier separate. The last time I recall wearing it was on the blog in 2020 and before than on the blog in 2018.
the Polo Ralph Lauren pants
I ordered these nearly two years ago. The pants are silk, which was a major selling point. They are cropped with drawstrings at the hem of each pant leg, which I keep untied and loose. Those drawstrings are mimicked at the waist, which also has a drawstring closure in addition to a zipper and button. This makes for an ideal style to wear for Thanksgiving.
I did not love the way they fit until I lost about twenty pounds at the beginning of the year. Since then, in addition to Thanksgiving, I wore these to the office, to my husband’s office, and to lunch.
