The Black / White Print Dress makes a second appearance on the blog.
the g. label cortes dress
What I love about this dress: the midi length, the a-line cut, the pockets, and the black and white print.
Said black and white print sold me on this dress. It reminds me of two articles of clothing I owned at the end of high school in 2002, a pair of Gap Stretch side zip capri pants and a Gap Stretch side zip mini skirt. Both were black and white graphic prints, albeit different ones and the mini was embellished with black seed beads. I am a nostalgia junkie so of course when I spotted this dress on the Goop website, I ordered it after carefully considering the price for a couple weeks. Because yes, it is pricey.
If the white and black print does not do it for you, this dress is also available in solid black. If the dress shape is not for you, there is a skirt available in the white and black print that is a call back to a style as worn by Carrie Bradshaw in season four of SATC. Options!
Note: These styles go in and out of stock. It is worth bookmarking and a little light stalking, especially at the markdown price they are now.
Size-wise, I am wearing a twelve although I should have returned it for a size ten. My bra is exposed at the underarms of this dress; this will be remedied by having a tailor shorten the shoulders.
Lastly, I appreciate that this dress can be worn a million different ways. Last summer, I wore it with oversized sunglasses and understated jewelry, with my hair down. More recently, with cat eye sunglasses, my Fry Powers necklace, and J.Crew Factory earrings that have been on constant rotation this summer, with my hair pulled back.
