The Tory Burch embellished caftan looks just as expensive…as I paid for it. Ugh, I don’t know, I had the money to buy it and I needed something to make me feel alive while sleepwalking-slash-trying to get through the first few months of being a new mom during the pandemic. I pulled the trigger on it while it was regular priced and it nearly resuscitated me.
What don’t I love about this caftan? The green stone and gold lace and beaded details at the neckline, wrists, and bottom hem and side vents are next level. Knock on wood, not one piece has fallen off in the four years since I ordered it. I like the length of the maxi caftan as it falls longer than most of the caftans I own. The white eyelet shell fabric over the white light liner fabric just feels like fantastic quality. Lastly, this caftan has pockets, genius!
To bring it back to what I don’t love about the caftan, the answer is getting in and out of it. The fabric does not have any give. Combine that with how my arms, shoulders, and chest have bulked up, resulting in a struggle. This caftan has a side zip, underarm closure. I learned the lesson the hard way that I should not put makeup on prior to trying to shimmy this number over my head.
I am wearing it in a size 12.
