Two Toggle Coats

I am not in need of a sherpa or shearling coat with toggle fasteners, especially not one that is only available in standard size range, as opposed to tall size range. However, I was struck by both the similarity between these two coats and the delta between the prices at $268 and $3,000.

price: This is the biggest difference between the two coats. The more expensive version is more than ten times more than the least expensive one. The former is also as much as most people’s rent or mortgage. Even I cannot reason spending so much money on an article of clothing which use is restricted by environmental factors.

fabric: The less expensive tag price is one hundred percent polyester. Considering that the store does not typically carry leather, I suspect that the trim is faux. The more expensive tag price is one hundo p shearling, or sheep, with leather trim.

size: The less expensive version is available in standard and petite sizing. The most expensive version is available in standard sizing only.

colors: The less expensive version is available in the neutral shade only, while the expensive alternative is available in a pale neutral and black options.

design details: The less expensive tag price has a trio of toggle closures; the more expensive version has four closures. Both have trim along pockets and the three k version has same trim running along the front vertical seam and wrist and collar seams.

Even though they look so similar, and I think that they could be confused for each other should you see them being worn out and about, the $268 version is very much the “Temu” version of the other, as the kids say.
