As much as I enjoy the Boden brand, and I have been shopping it since returning to the states circa 2023, the brand does not have much restraint when it comes to tartan.
By that I mean, the second the calendar flipped into September, we were inundated with tartan pieces. Call me a climate change grinch but I do not want to even think about wearing wool, which is the ideal fabric content for tartan, until October. While I appreciate that the pieces are made of wool as opposed to some bastardization of synthetic, it is still tipping eighty degrees with sometimes suffocating humidity.
It was shocking to see it on my Instagram feed and moreover creator ads showing several variations on how to wear tartan. Poor timing, as I cannot fathom wearing wool tartan, for the next two months.
