Year of Less (28/365)

What am I doing with all the money I am saving as a result of my year of less? So glad you asked!

I previously set aside the percentage of money that my company matched for my 401k, but there was definitely room to increase it. I calculated the percentage I could put aside without exceeding the 20,500 dollar annual limit, up from 19,000 in 2019. I just sent the form to HR last week.

I realized after I submitted the forms that I will need to calculate the percentage of future salaries every time I receive a raise, and compare it to yearly updates for maximum dollar limits. This means that I could very possibly end up decreasing my percentage.

I reflected back on my Twitter thread and noted that everything that I was tempted by was from Banana Republic.

The internet and the mail service has been turned back on. My husband reported back that the mail room was completely inundated with shipments. It ended up taking him two trips (one on foot and one with the vehicle) to get all of the packages home. Of course, this included household items that we have on subscription from Amazon.

Most of the orders were golden. I love everything from the Lands’ End pajamas to the Kendra Scott fine jewelry.

The Manolo Blahnik heels are going back. Neither pair fit. I guess I am actually a size 12 in the brand. C’est tragique.
