Pre-pandemic, pre-Petite Garcon, I was gifted the best set of navy blue piped pajamas. I loved these pajamas. They were on once a week rotation; the fact that I could throw them in the dryer allowed me to wear them so often. I would go on to wear them during the pandemic and during my pregnancy with my first. They even made it over to Asia. Unfortunately, I experienced a pregnancy loss and I was wearing the pajamas during much of the process, which ultimately speaks to the comfort of the pjs. As such I retired the pajamas. Eventually, I worked out the mental and emotional baggage of losing a pregnancy and my pajamas.
However, during my third pregnancy that would eventually give me my second son, I found a pair of very cozy pajamas that reminded me of that navy blue piped set. Since then I acquired them in four color ways / patterns: black, gray, black with white hearts, and hydrangea blue with while stripes.
Most recently, I found a style from a premium brand that the pajamas set is almost certainly based upon. Both are modal and feature a contrast piping detail.
- Price: The price of the top of the more accessible brand is forty dollars and the pants are forty-five dollars whereas the set from the premium brand is 148 dollars.
- Sizes: I favor the accessible brand since it is available in tall, from small to xxlarge. (Also petite, from xsmall to large!) In standard sizes, the pieces are available from xxsmall to xxlarge. On the other hand, the premium version is only available in standard sizes from xsmall to xxlarge. It is worth noting that the accessible brand sells the pieces independent of one another with allows for an optimum fit for the top and bottom.
- Colors: Depending on the size range, the accessible set is available in eight to nine color ways. Where the premium version wins, the set is available in eighteen color ways.
