Outerwear is my absolute favorite thing to shop. Even with the decline in tall sizing, finding a fantastic coat in the right size just feels like a massive victory. A phenomenal outer layer just sharpens any outfit. I particularly enjoy collecting hues of the rainbow and matching or contrasting in a way that I learned from her upper east side royal highness herself, Blair Waldorf.
After a solid twelve years of being a J.Crew bestseller, I am going to be brutally honest and say that I think it is time to retire the Cocoon coat. I am the first to admit that I wore my deep green version, procured back in 2013, ever so frequently. It was a great layer for hiking up Book Hill in Georgetown during my first winters owning the coat. However at some point while our family was in Kazakhstan, I donated mine. The fatigue set it, but I will say that the quality of that coat was tops and had several more years of life in it.
